Sogody played a pivotal role in transforming MOD LIGHTING’s conversion rate optimization (CRO) program, leading to a triple increase in sales.
Prior to engaging with us, MOD LIGHTING encountered difficulties with its CRO efforts. They lacked the necessary resources and expertise to establish an in-house CRO program, leading to challenges in identifying high-impact opportunities. To address this, they embarked on a comprehensive approach, conducting analytical research, utilizing behavioral analytics, and actively seeking customer feedback.
Drawing from the insights gained through this research, Sogody honed in on three pivotal areas—Customer Behavior, Website Usability, and Customer Motivation—as the core components of our solution. To drive impactful improvements, we implemented a series of effective A/B testing strategies, leveraging data-driven methodologies.
Sogody’s e-commerce brand extension, Spell & Sell, took on the task of designing and implementing around 50 A/B tests. These tests were conducted across both MOD LIGHTING’s online platform and mobile app, tailoring solutions to cater to the specific needs of users.
One of our most triumphant tests involved streamlining the Product Detail Page (PDP), creating a cleaner and more intuitive process for visitors to follow. Initially, the PDP contained all 14 options displayed as individual swatch buttons, which led to clutter and confusion.
By reducing crowding on the page and implementing a clear step-by-step approach, we empowered customers to make informed decisions and navigate the PDP seamlessly.
The results of this test were nothing short of exceptional, driving an astounding +12.28% increase in Conversion Rate, and an impressive +19.3% boost in Average Order Value (AOV).
Another remarkable success for MOD LIGHTING involved the removal of a reserved basket timer from the checkout process. Recognizing that MOD’s audience spent months researching the perfect lighting options, creating a false sense of urgency with timers proved ineffective. While reserved basket timers may have their place in certain contexts, we determined that they were not suitable for MOD LIGHTING’s specific customer base.
This test yielded remarkable results, driving an impressive +13.8% increase in Conversion Rate and a notable +16% improvement in AOV.
This outcome emphasized the importance of tailoring CRO strategies to suit the unique characteristics and preferences of a target audience. It also demonstrated the value of approaching CRO with a mindset of experimentation and innovation, rather than blindly following industry trends.
These successes marked just the beginning of our partnership with MOD LIGHTING. Building upon the positive results, achieved through our experimentation, design, and development services, our collaboration expanded to encompass maintenance services and the creation of new features.
